The high performance and low price points established by the S6000 family bring advanced features to the mainstream surveillance market. With the introduction of S6000 family software configurable processors, it is now cost effective to use sophisticated video analytics to direct the capture of high definition video streams and to apply state of the art compression to the stream for transmission or storage.
To speed time to market for system designers and OEMs, Stretch has produced two reference designs. The first design is for an Intelligent Internet Protocol Camera. Based on the Stretch S6105, this design kit is supplied with a 2Mp CMOS sensor and streams video encoded in H.264 format directly from the integrated Ethernet port. The second design is for a PCIe Digital Video Recorder add-in card for PCs. This design uses four S6000 family software configurable processors to perform 16 channels of H.264 D1 video encoding at 480fps.
Both designs use the Stretch Intelligent Encoder and support G.711 and G.726 audio as well as MJPEG and H.264 video encode. This encoder also contains pre-processing and stream analysis capabilities and can dynamically adjust its own encode parameters to optimize bandwidth and storage consumption while maintaining constant video quality.
