Stretch S6000 Family Processors Power New NVR Server from Exacq
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 22, 2010 – Stretch Inc., the pioneer and leader in software configurable processors, today announced that Exacq Technologies, Inc., developers of the exacqVision VMS software and systems for video surveillance applications, is using Stretch S6000 family processors to power its new exacqVision EL-S embedded Linux NVR appliance.
"We are very excited that Exacq chose our S6000 processors to power their new NVR server," said Bob Beachler, Vice President of Marketing at Stretch. "The S6000 family of software configurable processors has proved to be the perfect solution for Exacq, delivering the power and flexibility needed for this state-of-the-art hybrid system."
exacqVision EL-S is the latest addition to Exacq's EL embedded Linux server product line. The EL-S is a low-cost hybrid NVR server appliance, which offers 8 analog camera inputs and up to 24 IP camera inputs, managed with the exacqVision server software. The embedded Linux OS runs from a solid state drive for optimal reliability and can alert users in the event of a hard drive failure in the video recording system. The EL-S has a power consumption of less than one-third that of traditional video servers, resulting in hundreds of dollars in energy cost savings over the lifetime of the unit, as well as higher reliability from a cooler-running system.
"Stretch S6000 processors were ideal for our new embedded Linux server product," noted Dave Underwood, President of Exacq Technologies. "The high performance, full D1 resolution, and true H.264 compression is fully utilized within our exacqVision software, enabling the highest video performance at a low cost."
