Stretch Inc. Appoints Joe Hanson as Director, Business Development

Former Altera Director Joins Software-Configurable Processor Company To Spearhead Growing Business Initiatives

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 11, 2005 – Stretch Inc., a pioneer and leader in software-configurable processor devices, today announced the appointment of Joe Hanson to the role of Director, Business Development. Hanson is responsible for creating an ecosystem of companies targeting compute-intensive applications, spearheading relationships with key customers, and establishing a university program to foster research and development complimentary to Stretch's technology.

With over ten years of programmable logic and embedded systems marketing experience, Hanson comes to Stretch from Altera, where he spent eight years serving in multiple roles including Director of Marketing for System Level Tools and Director of Marketing and Applications for the Excalibur Business Unit, Altera's embedded processor solutions group. While at Altera he evangelized FPGA and embedded processor integration to support hardware acceleration of software algorithms. In doing so, he cultivated numerous relationships with customers and third party providers of intellectual property cores and tools. He also built Altera's university program and effected its global presence. Prior to Altera, Hanson held key engineering roles at Advanced Data Systems, CMS Research Corporation, and The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"Joe's proven ability to identify strategic market opportunities and build effective partnerships in our industry will significantly contribute to our plans for customer growth and success over the coming year," said Reynette Au, vice-president of marketing. "His programmable technology experience and knowledge of embedded processing make him a valuable addition to the Stretch team and we are pleased that he will be leading our business development initiatives."

Commenting on his appointment, Hanson said: "Stretch's software approach to meeting the performance challenge of compute-intensive applications is the wave of the future. The company's fundamental value proposition enables system designers to use C code to configure and optimize the processor to meet the compute requirements of their algorithms. I am very excited to be part of this new generation of thinking."

Hanson holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Florida State University, respectively. He holds three patent awards and has over twenty years of design experience in embedded systems, FPGAs, and CPLDs.
