Executive's Experience to Further Expand Market Presence of Innovative Semiconductor Company That Recently Introduced Software-Configurable Processor

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 17, 2004 — Stretch Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, today announced the appointment of accomplished semiconductor industry executive Reynette Au to the position of vice president of marketing. Au, who reports to CEO Gary Banta, is responsible for worldwide marketing strategy and operations for Stretch, creator of a new processor category: software-configurable processors that embed programmable logic within the processor architecture.

"Reynette brings a perfectly matched skill set to Stretch. Not only has Reynette demonstrated the ability to create new market categories and a deep understanding of the market issues surrounding configurable semiconductor technologies, but she brings strong expertise in management, leadership, strategic thinking and communication skills to Stretch.” said Banta. “Reynette's addition highly complements the Stretch executive team. We are extremely pleased that she has joined us, and we believe she will be invaluable in helping to establish Stretch as a successful global semiconductor company."

"It's not often that you get a chance to help shape an entirely new and important product category, but Stretch presents just such an opportunity," said Au. "Stretch is filling a market gap in a unique way that will fundamentally change how people approach and create embedded systems. Stretch has a truly revolutionary approach to embedded system design, and I'm very excited to be joining the superb Stretch team in working to achieve success for this extraordinary endeavor."

Au's Background Stresses Tangible Results
Before joining Stretch, Reynette Au served as president and CEO for Triscend Corporation, a configurable system-on-chip (SOC) company, recently acquired by Xilinx. At Triscend, she was instrumental in positioning the company's field-configurable SOC technology and promoting the value of highly integrated configurable platforms.

Prior to Triscend, Au was president of ARM Inc., ARM Ltd.'s U.S. operations. Under her direction, ARM significantly expanded its market position of its now-standard microprocessor solutions. Au also served as vice president of worldwide marketing for ARM Ltd., an international company with a $1.5B market capitalization. At ARM, Au made key contributions to establishing and developing ARM's significant IP licensing strategy which resulted in ARM becoming the leading supplier of embedded processor technology.
