Stretch Wins Electron d'Or for Microprocessor Product of the Year
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 15, 2005 – Stretch Inc., a pioneer and leader in software-configurable processor devices, announced today that its S5000 product family has won the prestigious Electron d'Or in the Microprocessor category. The annual Electron d'Or awards are organised by leading French technology publication Electronique and Stretch's S5000 series was chosen ahead of other finalists including AMCC, Freescale Semiconductors, Innova Card, Renesas Technology and Silicon Labs.
The S5000 software-configurable processor family is the first standard product in the industry to embed programmable logic within the processor. Based on Stretch's revolutionary S5 engine, the S5000 processor family can dramatically boost system performance by accelerating compute-intensive tasks through the Stretch Instruction Set Extension Fabric (ISEF). Stretch recently announced the launch of the S5620 processor and S56DVK20 development platform, the latest in the S5000 series.
