Stretch Announces New Series of CIF Resolution DVR Add-in Cards

CIF Resolution DVR Cards Provide Industry-Leading Performance for Cost-Sensitive Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 23, 2009 – Stretch Inc., the pioneer and leader in software configurable processors, today announced availability of the VRC6000C Series of PCIe DVR add-in cards. VRC6000C Series cards feature Stretch S6000 family software configurable processors and deliver state-of-the-art H.264 intelligent encoding capability for up to 16 channels of CIF resolution video on a single PCIe add-in card. This provides a highly cost effective solution for applications that require excellent video processing performance and high-channel densities.

The first card in the VRC6000C Series is the 16-channel VRC6016C. The VRC6016C performs video pre-processing and embedded analytics at full frame rate on every channel to optimize the H.264 Intelligent Encoder in real time. This reduces both file sizes and storage requirements. The card can be configured using the same rich application programmers interface (API) found on the D1 resolution VRC6000 Series of cards.

"The VRC6000C Series uses the same API as our VRC6000 Series D1 resolution add-in cards, allowing customers to select a card that meets their resolution and channel-density requirements, said Bob Beachler, Stretch vice president of marketing. "In many installations, using CIF resolution is sufficient and more cost effective than using D1. With the addition of CIF resolutions, Stretch now offers the most complete portfolio of DVR add-in cards, supporting MJPEG, MPEG4, H.264 AVC, and H.264 SVC encoding and decoding."

All cards in the VRC6000C Series can also perform D1 resolution capture and compression. By leveraging the flexibility afforded by Stretch software configurable processor technology, the VRC6016C can be reconfigured to capture and compress 8 channels of D1 resolution video at full frame rate.

The VRC6016C card is available immediately. Contact Stretch sales for pricing information.
