Stretch and Provideo Announce New High Performance DVR Add-in Cards
Provideo Releases Series of High-Performance PCIe DVR Cards Featuring Stretch Processors; New Cards are Available in 4-, 8- and 16-Channel Configurations
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 30th, 2009 – Stretch Inc., the pioneer and leader in software configurable processors and Provideo, a leading provider of high-performance video solutions for the surveillance industry, today announced availability of Provideo's latest series of five PCIe DVR add-in cards. The series comprise capture and compression cards ranging from the PV-190 8/16 channel capture card up to the PV-283 16-channel H.264 compression card featuring a 4-Lane PCIe interface.
The new cards leverage the power of Stretch S6000 family software configurable processors to deliver unprecedented performance in a single PCIe add-in card form factor. All cards feature embedded analytics and ship with a software developer's kit, ensuring that porting of third-party software is fast and straightforward.

The Stretch Intelligent Encoder enabled Provideo to automatically configure their H.264 encode parameters based on the results of embedded analytics running on every channel of captured video. Additionally leveraging the flexibility of Stretch's software-defined architecture allowed Provideo to easily update their designs according to the latest standards, such as H.264SVC, the scalable extension to the popular H.264 standard.
